I am looking for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established company in Norwich. They are looking for someone who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within the construction industry and has a strong ability to interpret specifications and drawings. Excellent Excel, analytical and numerical skills are essential together with a good understanding of construction methods and sequencing. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying/Building and/or Construction Management and knowledge of cost planning and commercial risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret architectural drawings and design information.
- Break down project documentation to identify scope, risks, gaps and cost drivers.
- Develop clear pricing structures.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Carry out quantification and take-offs from drawings.
- Obtain quotations from specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Analyse quotes against specifications.
- Build detailed subcontract packages and pricing breakdowns.
- Provide detailed cost breakdowns and scope clarification during project handover to delivery teams.
