A market leading company with a global presence is looking for a unique new member to their highly productive finance team. As Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for a number of key accounting tasks and leading a small team as part of your personal development.
Key duties include:
- Improve reporting efficiencies and controls to ensure we meet the tight month end close deadline.
- Robust controls on Balance sheet reconciliations - regular reviews of balance sheet control accounts.
- Month end balance sheet review and variance analysis.
- Month end procedures, including journal postings & key control account reconciliations.
- Audit support (annual statutory audits / internal audits).
- Statutory accounts preparation.
- Intercompany and related party transactions controls, including month end intercompany matrix reconciliation.
- UK VAT returns completion and reconciliations.
- Fixed asset reporting support and control, including right-of-use leased assets.
- Oversee other statutory reporting, for example ONS returns.
- Direct line management of team of 3.
The ideal candidate for this post will be fully qualified or at finalist level (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), with strong understanding of month and year end requirements. A strong understanding of reporting standards is essential and corporate audit background would be advantageous. This role would suit someone looking for their 1st move practice or someone looking to gain exposure to global thinking and team supervision.
