Freelance Quantity Surveyor - Offsite & Modular Construction

Rate: £350 per day

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Contract: Freelance (16+ Months) | Start Date: August 2026 to December 2027

Atkinson Baker Associates are currently recruiting a commercially astute Freelance Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a pioneering Offsite & Modular Main Contractor.

The Client

Our client is an award-winning leader in modern methods of construction (MMC), renowned for delivering high-quality, fast-track solutions across the UK. They are mobilizing for a major new development in Bradford starting in August 2026 and require a robust Freelance QS to take commercial ownership of the project through to its completion in December 2027.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the financial control and profitability of the project, managing everything from procurement to final accounts.

Your duties will include:

  • Commercial Management: Managing the project's commercial performance, producing accurate Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), and cash flow forecasts.
  • Sub-Contractor Management: Procuring specialist sub-contractors, managing payment notices, assessing variations, and handling final accounts.
  • Client Liaison: Submitting accurate valuations to the client, pricing variations, and ensuring all commercial risks are mitigated.
  • Cost Control: Working closely with the Site Management team to ensure the project is delivered strictly within budget parameters.

Requirements

Essential: A proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contracting environment.

Desirable: Previous experience with offsite construction, modular builds, or fast-track structural projects is highly advantageous.

Qualifications: Degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

Location & Commute: Bradford, West Yorkshire. (Commutable from Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, and the wider M62 corridor).
