Atkinson Baker Associates are currently recruiting a precise and reliable Site Engineer on behalf of a leading South East Civil Engineering & Construction Main Contractor.

The Client

Our client is a highly successful civil engineering and construction contractor known for delivering complex groundworks, earthworks, and diverse sector builds (including schools, industrial spaces, and secure government buildings) across Kent. With a surge in new site mobilisations, they are expanding their site engineering teams.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer and Project Manager, you will be responsible for the core dimensional control and technical accuracy of the project. You will be heavily involved in the primary phases of construction, focusing on earthworks, drainage, and foundational sub-structures.

Your duties will include:

  • Accurate Setting Out: Providing precise setting out for earthworks, drainage, holding down bolts, foundations, and sub-structures using robotic total stations.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Completing rigorous QA checks, maintaining precise as-built records, and assisting with the compilation of handover documentation.
  • Site Coordination: Working closely with groundworkers and sub-contractors to ensure technical designs are understood and executed flawlessly.
  • Surveying: Conducting regular topographical surveys and volume calculations for heavy earth-moving phases.

Requirements

Essential: Proven experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering, groundworks, or heavy commercial construction.

Essential: Highly competent in the use of robotic total stations (Leica/Trimble) and interpreting complex AutoCAD drawings.

Essential Qualifications: Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering and a valid CSCS Card.

Background: Must have a clear background suitable for passing government security vetting if required.
