OVERVIEW

AtkinsClarke supporting a large, listed, consumer-focused organisation with the appointment of a Head of Commercial Finance. This is a senior leadership role sitting at the heart of the business, responsible for driving commercial performance, supporting decision-making and leading a sizeable team across business partnering and FP&A. You will play a key role in shaping strategy, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering meaningful insight across multiple operational areas.

OPPORTUNITY

As Head of Commercial Finance, you will lead a high-performing team of business partners and analysts, supporting key areas including trading, stores, procurement and central functions. You will act as a true commercial partner to the business, providing insight, challenge and leadership to drive performance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a large team across business partnering and FP&A
  • Partnering senior stakeholders across trading, retail operations and procurement
  • Driving performance through insightful analysis and robust financial planning
  • Owning budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
  • Identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies and margin improvement
  • Supporting strategic decision-making and investment appraisals
  • Delivering clear, actionable insight to influence business performance
  • Improving reporting, processes and use of data across the function

This is a highly visible role with significant influence across the organisation.

PERSON

We’re looking for a commercially minded finance leader with strong experience operating within large, consumer-focused or multi-site environments. You will bring:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven leadership experience managing sizeable finance teams
  • Strong commercial finance and business partnering capability
  • Experience supporting trading, retail or operational functions
  • The ability to influence and challenge at senior stakeholder level
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong analytical capability
  • Experience within listed or large, complex organisations would be advantageous.
