This is a full-time, permanent senior management position offering contract leadership across diverse, high-value projects ranging from £1m to £30m.
You\’ll oversee end-to-end contract delivery and project management on multiple complex schemes simultaneously, leading 2-3 new build or refurbishment projects at any one time. This senior-level role is a key part of the operational leadership team and is integral to the successful delivery of current and future projects across multiple sectors.

Their diverse portfolio of projects spans commercial construction, education, leisure and healthcare construction projects, combining traditional delivery methods with modern project controls and sustainability frameworks. Following two years of consistent growth, they are expanding their contracts management team and seeking an experienced construction professional to lead their contract delivery programme.
Role
As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will take full ownership of multiple projects matched to your experience and sector background. This includes pre-construction involvement and end-to-end delivery, working under standard main contract conditions, typically NEC and JCT contracts, to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the required standards.
You\’ll lead planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement and contract management for 2-3 new build or refurbishment schemes at any one time, depending on size and complexity. This senior-level contract management role offers real autonomy and the opportunity to influence project profitability and business performance across the Midlands construction sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage the execution of multiple construction contracts efficiently under NEC and JCT contract conditions, maximising returns and promoting repeat business
- Lead contract administration and subcontractor coordination across pre-construction and delivery phases
- Oversee project delivery across education, healthcare, commercial and leisure construction schemes across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands
- Chair client and stakeholder meetings, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution on contract matters
- Collaborate with delivery and site teams to maintain project quality, safety and progress
- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, balancing complex contractual obligations with operational delivery
- Offer guidance and oversight throughout pre-construction and delivery phases.
- Foster an inclusive team environment that champions diverse thinking and shared success
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (CDM 2015), quality standards and internal governance procedures
- Engage with planning teams and occasionally provide direct support to project scheduling
Person
To be successful in this Senior Contracts Manager position in Nottingham, you will bring significant experience working within a main contracting construction environment, ideally for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
Essential experience and skills:
- Proven track record as a Senior Contracts Manager, Contracts Manager or equivalent senior project leadership role within construction main contracting
- Demonstrated success managing multiple construction projects simultaneously to time, cost and quality standards
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC contracts, and contract management principles
- Excellent leadership style with the ability to manage and develop teams effectively
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with subcontractors and senior stakeholders
- Experience reporting progress and commercial performance to company Directors
- Strong commitment to health and safety compliance, risk management procedures and CDM 2015 regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider leadership team
Highly desirable
- Certifications such as SMSTS, NEBOSH or a degree in Construction Management
- Background in delivering complex, multi-million pound schemes
- Experience in operations management or senior role progression
