Atkins Search are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Nottingham to join an established, award-winning construction main contractor with a strong presence in the Midlands. This is a full-time, permanent management position offering contract leadership across diverse, high-value projects ranging from £1m - £45m.
Our client is a financially robust, well-respected construction main contractor with a strong presence across Nottingham and the East Midlands. Known for collaborative working practices, they maintain trusted relationships with subcontractors and clients to deliver high-quality schemes on time and within budget. Their diverse portfolio of projects spans commercial construction, education, leisure and healthcare construction projects, combining traditional delivery methods with modern project controls and sustainability frameworks. Following two years of consistent growth, they are expanding their contracts management team and seeking an experienced construction professional to lead their contract delivery programme.
Operating as the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for large-scale projects in the business with values ranging from £1m - £45m. Working alongside an established Commercial team, you will be responsible for supporting Quantity Surveyors at various levels on your project, and ensuring the scheme is delivered on-time and to budget.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely commercial reports, supporting members of your team and ensuring the project hits the appropriate financial targets:
- Manage commercial team members including Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Support
- Ensure accurate and robust management of subcontractors
- Procurement of subcontractor packages
- Prepare Payment Applications and ensuring cash flow targets are met
- Provide key support to the Contracts Managers and Operational Teams
- Conduct profit and loss reporting, providing analysis to the Commercial Directors
To be successful in this Senior Quantity Surveyor position in Nottingham, you will have significant experience working within a main contracting construction environment, ideally for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable qualification
- Excellent JCT and NEC knowledge
- Proven track record delivering major, complex D&B schemes
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate autonomously and as part of wider teams across the business
