Our practice-wide team of 80 Landscape Architects work throughout the UK and internationally. Our expertise ranges across all key sectors of the built environment: Urban Regeneration, Active Travel, Green and Blue Infrastructure, Flood Alleviation, Masterplanning, Education, Aviation, Commercial, Defence, Transport, Retrofit and Residential providing integrated nature-based solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

We have a strong pipeline of work as a national landscape practice across all sectors, and we are looking to recruit a Landscape Architect to grow our team specifically in our Northern Ireland region. We have a vacancy based in our Belfast office. Depending on your level of experience, you will have the opportunity to take an active role on a large variety of challenging design projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams, using your insight and creativity to generate positive, sustainable, impactful designs.

We're on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Landscape Architect to join our team with relevant experience in practice post-graduation. You may already be on your Chartership journey. We need you to demonstrate an excellent track record in design. The role offers a wide variety of experience and provides an excellent opportunity for career progression.

Your Role

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Landscape design, supporting projects from feasibility through to detail design.
  • Experience and an understanding of urban design and urban planning (desirable).
  • Experience and an understanding of GIS ArcGIS and/or QGIS (desirable).
  • An understanding of the principles of SuDS (desirable).
  • Planting knowledge (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience and understanding of LVIA (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to report write, assist with contract documentation and site supervision.
  • Technical knowledge, high-quality presentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with working in a quality assurance environment (desirable).
  • Good proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe software packages with a passion to explore the use of Revit, Sketch Up and Enscape used as a design tool and for presentational outputs.
  • Communication through hand drawing is also invaluable.

About you

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in English and the capability to produce high-quality reports. We are looking for people with design flair and an inquisitive approach to their work to support project delivery from feasibility through to construction. You will show initiative, strong presentation and communication skills, and confidence in site surveys, technical reports, and designs. Ability to work under pressure and have proven success in meeting tight deadlines. Confident team worker, but able to work with limited supervision.

The opportunity requires candidates to work both locally and within our national business to win and deliver work and with these opportunities there will be a requirement for flexibility in respect of travel and location based on project demands. Applicants should hold a full valid driving licence and must live within a reasonable travelling distance to one of our offices. Site visits across Northern Ireland and Ireland will be required.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
