We are currently seeking an Assistant Stakeholder Management and Sustainability Consultant to join our Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability Team to support our clients' projects from strategic planning through to construction. This includes supporting the team identify geographical areas that will be impacted by planned works, assessing social impacts themes, stakeholder identification, stakeholder mapping, stakeholder analysis, assessing sustainability risks and opportunities related to project planning, delivery and its operational impact.
The Assistant Stakeholder Management and Sustainability Consultant will be highly proficient in Microsoft packages supporting the development and formatting of strategic documents, reports and presentations to deliver client engagement meetings and supporting public consultation processes, engaging with a range of project stakeholders including statutory and non-statutory bodies, landowners, members of the public, community groups, schools and businesses.
This exciting role will provide you with the opportunity to work within multi-disciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects across a broad range of sectors including Energy, Rail, Active Travel, Water and Fleet. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills who can articulate complex information to a wide range of stakeholders and audiences in a manner which is clear and easy to understand. Knowledge of the various statutory planning processes and public procurement in Northern Ireland is essential.
Your role:
- Undertake desktop research of land and project boundaries affected by proposed infrastructure projects.
- Assist in the management of land and stakeholder information in GIS and online databases.
- Support the stakeholder engagement process including attending meetings with identified stakeholders to discuss the impact of project proposals and designs.
- Assist with the preparation of Project Communications, including presentations, online and offline project content in advance of public consultations and project works.
- Assist with the preparation and development of strategic documents including Stakeholder Management Plans, Sustainability strategies, Engagement and Communication planners.
- Support public consultation activities including preparation of consultation material e.g. project brochures/leaflets, website updates, and press releases etc. and attendance at public consultation events as required.
- Assist in the engagement with all project stakeholders including statutory and non-statutory bodies, landowners, members of the public, community groups, and businesses.
- Support the management, delivery and planning of project Social Value commitments.
- Support senior colleagues prepare and deliver facilitated sessions to clients and stakeholders.
- Accurately updating project administration related to Stakeholder Management and Sustainability tasks.
About you:
- Degree educated (2:1 or above) in a land or planning related discipline e.g. Geography, Planning, or Environmental Science.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in face-to-face meetings, as well as written mediums such as letters and emails.
- Flexibility in approach to managing workload, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft and other related software packages.
- Strong attention to detail particularly in the preparation of complex statutory process documents and plans.
- A confident individual with a positive, can-do outlook and an approachable friendly manner.
- The ability to work effectively within a large team, or to work alone as required.
- A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is open to new challenges and will contribute to the growth of the Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability Team.

Additional information:
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
