About the Company
I'm currently working with a UK-wide building safety and compliance consultancy that has built a strong reputation by delivering high-quality, technically sound work. Their projects include high-rise residential blocks, older and more challenging housing stock, schools and colleges, specialist healthcare environments, and large public-sector estates. A significant amount of their work comes from long-term frameworks and repeat clients, which reflects the standard of service they provide and the way they work with clients over time.
About the Role
This role is specifically for an experienced Type 4 Fire Risk Consultant. It's aimed at someone who understands what intrusive surveys actually involve and is comfortable working in buildings where construction defects, compartmentation failures, and historical issues.
What the Role Involves
The role is very hands-on and technical. You'll be completing intrusive Type 4 Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with PAS 79, carrying out detailed on-site inspections and opening up building elements where required. This includes identifying hidden fire safety issues, construction defects, and compartmentation failures that wouldn't be picked up during a non-intrusive assessment.
About You
This role requires proven experience completing Type 4 Fire Risk Assessments. You should be confident on site, comfortable with intrusive inspections, and have a strong understanding of building construction and fire safety principles. A good working knowledge of current fire safety legislation, guidance, and best practice is essential, as is the ability to produce clear, detailed, and defensible reports. Third-party accreditation through bodies such as the IFE or IFSM is highly desirable and will strengthen your application.
The Package
The salary is competitive and aligned with your level of experience up to £75k per annum. The role offers genuine flexibility, including fully remote working, with travel only where site visits are required. You'll be supported with structured in-house training that contributes to CPD, alongside paid external courses and ongoing professional development.
