ATK Solutions is currently working with a specialist and highly regarded fire engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Fire Consultant from a building surveying, construction surveying, façade inspection, or passive fire protection background. This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging fire remediation and fire engineering projects across complex residential, commercial, mixed-use, hotel, healthcare, and education developments throughout the UK.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced Fire Consultant, Building Surveyor, Fire Surveyor, or Passive Fire Surveyor or technical construction professional looking to further develop within the fire engineering and building safety sector. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Fire Engineers and technical specialists on complex remediation schemes, intrusive investigations, compartmentation reviews, fire stopping programmes, and external wall fire safety projects. This role also provides the opportunity, if desired, to develop into FRAEW/PAS9980 surveying and retrospective fire strategy consultancy through structured mentoring and technical development support.

  • Deliver technical fire remediation and passive fire protection projects across existing and occupied buildings
  • Conduct compartmentation surveys, passive fire inspections, fire door inspections, and intrusive investigations
  • Review construction details, building defects, and fire safety compliance issues within complex buildings
  • Support remediation programmes relating to fire stopping, cavity barriers, fire doors, and external wall systems
  • Work alongside Fire Engineers on complex fire engineering solutions and building safety strategies
  • Assist with technical reporting, photographic evidence collection, and remediation specifications
  • Liaise with contractors, developers, housing providers, consultants, and clients regarding remediation solutions and compliance matters
  • Support quality assurance inspections during remediation works and sign-off stages
  • Gain exposure to retrospective fire strategies, external wall fire reviews, and FRAEW/PAS9980 methodologies
