About the Opportunity

Our client is a highly respected fire engineering consultancy delivering façade remediation, external wall assessments and complex building safety solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a technically capable consultant to support the Technical Director in managing complex façade remediation and design projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside one of the consultancy's most senior technical leaders, gaining exposure to technically challenging external wall systems, remediation design, fire engineering principles and complex residential developments. The role would suit someone with experience in façade remediation, building surveying, external wall investigations or fire safety to work with the specialist FRAEW team.

The Role

  • Working directly alongside the Technical Director, you will support the delivery of external wall assessments and façade remediation projects across a wide range of residential and mixed-use developments.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Supporting the delivery of PAS 9980 Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEW) from instruction through to completion.
    • Assisting with technical assessments of external wall systems to determine appropriate remediation strategies.
    • Supporting intrusive façade investigations, opening-up works and on-site inspections.
    • Reviewing external wall construction including cladding systems, insulation, cavity barriers, fire stopping, balconies and façade interfaces.
    • Design project delivery.
    • Assisting in the preparation of technically robust FRAEW reports and supporting documentation.
    • Assisting with EWS1 technical assessments where required.
    • Supporting the development of practical façade remediation strategies and technical specifications.
    • Undertaking site inspections throughout remediation projects to verify compliance and workmanship.
    • Liaising with contractors, developers, architects, managing agents and housing providers during remediation programmes.
    • Supporting quality assurance reviews of remediation works and assisting with technical sign-off.
    • Working collaboratively with Fire Engineers and Façade Consultants on technically complex projects.
    • Managing your own workload while receiving ongoing mentoring from the Director of Technical Excellence.
