We are delighted to be representing our client, with whom we have a long-standing relationship for 9 years, and we are now looking to recruit a Head of Fire Risk Assessment to lead their established fire specialist consultancy. The business not only completes complex fire risk assessments and fire safety audits, but they are also involved in more complex construction phase fire risk assessments to enhance their technical reporting to their current client base.
Our client is a respected, ethically driven, and people-focused fire safety consultancy working across a diverse portfolio of buildings – including heritage sites, commercial estates, public‑sector properties, residential and multi‑occupancy buildings, and complex high‑risk environments. This is a key strategic position, responsible for leading and developing the Fire Risk Assessment team and ensuring the consistent delivery of high‑quality, compliant, and technically robust fire‑safety assessments. The successful candidate will oversee complex FRAs across a variety of building types, helping clients achieve practical and legally sound safety outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in shaping methodologies, driving innovation, and maintaining best practices in line with evolving legislation and industry standards. This role also includes significant stakeholder engagement, requiring confidence, clarity, and strong professional judgement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high‑performing FRA team
- Oversee and quality‑assure FRAs across heritage, retail, public‑sector and multi‑occupancy residential environments
- Provide expert technical guidance on compliance, fire‑safety strategy, and risk mitigation
- Develop and refine assessment frameworks and methodologies
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships
- Collaborate closely with other specialist teams to support wider organisational objectives
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience delivering complex Fire Risk Assessments across varied and complex building types
- Strong understanding of UK fire‑safety legislation, guidance, and best practice
- Proven leadership or senior management capability within fire safety
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable advice
- Professional, ethical, and committed to continuous improvement and service excellence
Salary & Benefits
- £70k – £90k, depending on experience and client contacts
