Fire Surveyor / Senior Fire Surveyor London | Hybrid Working | FRAEW & Fire Engineer career progression Join a growing specialist fire engineering consultancy delivering compartmentation surveys, external wall inspections, FRAEW support, PAS 9980 projects and building safety consultancy across some of the UK's most complex residential and commercial developments.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Surveyor / Senior Fire Surveyor to join their expanding technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveyor with a strong understanding of passive fire protection, building construction and external wall systems who is looking to develop their career within a highly respected fire engineering consultancy.

This role offers genuine long-term progression into Fire Safety Consultancy or Fire Engineering, with structured mentoring, technical development and exposure to a wide variety of complex projects across the UK.

The Role You will undertake technical fire safety surveys across residential, commercial, healthcare, education and mixed-use buildings, providing accurate site information and technical evidence to support Fire Engineers on a range of fire engineering and building safety commissions.

The role combines compartmentation surveys, external wall inspections, passive fire protection surveys and intrusive investigations, producing high-quality reports and defect schedules that directly support fee-earning technical projects.

Key Responsibilities Undertake compartmentation surveys across a wide variety of occupied and existing buildings.

Complete external wall surveys, inspecting wall construction, cavity barriers, fire stopping, insulation systems, sheathing boards, balconies, cladding systems and associated fire safety defects.

Carry out intrusive investigations and opening-up works to establish construction build-ups and verify fire safety measures.

Produce comprehensive survey reports, photographic records, defect schedules and marked-up drawings.

Identify defects including missing or defective cavity barriers, inadequate fire stopping, breaches in compartmentation, fire door defects and passive fire protection issues.

Gather technical evidence to support Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEW), PAS 9980 assessments and remediation strategies.

Support Fire Engineers with remediation inspections, quality assurance reviews, technical due diligence surveys and progress inspections.

Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, managing agents, residents and wider project teams.

Maintain excellent technical standards, ensuring reports are clear, accurate and supported by robust photographic evidence.

About You We are looking for an experienced Fire Surveyor who is confident undertaking technical surveys independently and producing high-quality reports suitable for technical review.
