Technical Recruiter in Fire Risk / Fire Engineering / Health & Safety / Building Safety. Nine years of experience recruiting technical professionals. Our client specialises in delivering complex fire engineering design solutions and aims to be a leading UK fire engineering consultancy.

We’re seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Fire Engineering to lead the division: own the team, develop software-driven solutions, and deliver high-impact projects. You will have the opportunity to develop your own fire engineering team, projects, and clients, shaping the division’s future and driving growth.

You will lead the Fire Engineering division with full responsibility for strategy, delivery, and growth. You’ll oversee the application and further development of proprietary fire engineering software and help set new industry standards. Autonomy will be provided to shape projects, teams, and client relationships, driving commercial success and technical excellence in a results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale the Fire Engineering division beyond its current £4M turnover
  • Develop and own your fire engineering projects and client relationships
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing fire engineering team
  • Drive adoption and enhancement of proprietary and industry-leading software tools
  • Deliver performance-based, compliant fire engineering solutions for complex projects
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, regulators, and software developers
  • Represent the company in technical forums and industry events
  • Contribute to business development and strategic growth planning
  • Degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety, or related discipline
  • Ideally, Chartered Engineer (CEng) or similar, on track to achieve accreditation, or qualified in a similar discipline
  • Experience managing in fire engineering or leadership roles
  • Strong background in fire engineering software and modelling tools
  • Experience working with or developing fire engineering software is a plus
  • Proven ability to grow and lead teams in a consultancy environment
  • Commercially aware, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Please note that our client would consider a Principal Consultant or Associate Director with the ability to deliver this role. Salary negotiable.
