Our client is a leading multidisciplinary construction and design consultancy, working extensively with local authorities, housing associations, and healthcare estates across the UK.
Working extensively with public-sector bodies, housing providers, and regulated environments, they are recognised for delivering compliance and life safety solutions at a national scale.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing cost, risk, and commercial performance, working closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
Key responsibilities:
- Commercial management of projects from pre-contract through to final account
- Preparation and control of budgets, forecasts, cost plans, and cash flow
- Contract administration, including valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts
- Management of subcontractor procurement, applications, and payments
- Support tender pricing and bid submissions for new projects and frameworks
- Monthly cost/value reconciliation and commercial reporting
- Collaboration with the project and delivery teams to manage risk and maximise value
- Ensuring compliance with NEC and/or JCT contracts, particularly within public-sector frameworks
- Supporting dispute avoidance and commercial resolution when required
Candidate requirements:
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction, M&E, or specialist contracting
- Strong understanding of cost control, contract administration, and commercial reporting
- Experience working on public-sector or regulated construction projects
- Working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- RICS or CIOB membership, or working towards (desirable)
