The Head of SMP is responsible for leading the overall direction, management, and day-to-day operations of the Incursio SMP. This is a senior management position focused on building and maintaining a high-quality Minecraft experience inspired by modern competitive and progression-based SMPs such as Lifesteal-style servers and large-scale community networks. The role combines gameplay leadership, operational management, and community coordination.
As Head of SMP, you will oversee the Minecraft server itself — including gameplay systems, economy balance, PvP direction, progression, server features, and player experience — while coordinating with departments such as Development, Community, Moderation, Events, and HR to help the server grow and operate effectively.
You should have strong knowledge of Minecraft SMP communities, player retention, PvP-focused gameplay, server progression systems, balancing, and modern network expectations. Experience with plugin configuration, server management, and handling Minecraft communities is highly important for this role.
This role is not just about administration — we are looking for someone who can help shape the long-term vision of Incursio as a growing Minecraft network powered by Athr, including custom systems, platform integrations, and large-scale community features.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall direction and management of the SMP
- Coordinate Minecraft Operations staff and server activities
- Oversee gameplay balance, progression, economy, and PvP systems
- Work with Development on custom features, plugins, and server systems
- Coordinate with Community and Moderation teams regarding player experience
- Help plan updates, resets, events, and long-term SMP progression
- Monitor player feedback and server performance
- Maintain a professional, active, and community-focused presence
Requirements
- Strong understanding of modern Minecraft SMP communities
- Experience managing or staffing Minecraft servers
