Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a male acute inpatient service within a well‑resourced hospital environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with patients experiencing acute mental health crises, providing rapid assessment, stabilisation, and recovery‑focused interventions.

Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Adult Acute
Hours: Full Time – 1 day WFH
Setting: 12‑bed male acute inpatient ward
Location: Stockport
Responsibilities:
- Lead clinical care for patients in an acute inpatient setting
- Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act
- Conduct ward rounds and multidisciplinary reviews
- Develop and oversee acute treatment plans
- Support safe admissions and discharge planning
- Provide risk assessments and crisis management
- Contribute to service development and governance
Qualifications:
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- Ideally CCT – may consider equivalent consultant experience
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status preferred
- Experience in inpatient or complex mental health settings
