Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist inpatient, rehabilitation and low secure service providing high-quality care for men and women with complex mental health needs. You’ll be working across a modern 72-bed centre consisting of acute, rehabilitation, ASD and low secure wards, delivering dedicated clinical leadership within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Provide RC responsibilities and consultant psychiatric input to inpatient services
  • Manage a caseload of 8–12 patients depending on ward need
  • Participate in a low-frequency regional second-on-call rota
  • Assess new referrals and support safe, appropriate admissions
  • Lead MDT clinical practice and contribute to governance and service development
  • Maintain strong relationships with community teams and commissioners
  • Support training, supervision and education within the service

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent qualification
  • CCT in General Adult, Forensic, LD Psychiatry or Psychotherapy desirable
  • Full GMC registration and recent annual appraisal
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
  • Experience supporting patients with complex needs in MDT settings
