Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist neurological rehabilitation and complex care service in Middlesbrough.

You will manage a complex caseload, providing high-quality, person-centred assessment and intervention across communication, voice and swallowing needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will use your specialist expertise to support individuals with complex neurological conditions and achieve positive clinical outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Manage a specialist caseload involving complex communication and swallowing needs.
  • Complete detailed communication and swallowing assessments using formal and informal assessment tools.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred Speech and Language Therapy interventions.
  • Develop and manage individualised swallowing and communication programmes.
  • Provide specialist input into multidisciplinary care planning and clinical decision-making.
  • Assess communication aid requirements and support effective use.
  • Provide training and supervision to therapy assistants, carers and colleagues.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience managing caseloads involving dysphagia assessment and treatment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with families and carers.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Strong multidisciplinary working and clinical decision-making skills.
