Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a leading women’s mental health service, offering care across acute, low secure, and rehabilitation settings. This purpose-built hospital provides trauma-informed and compassion-focused care to women with complex care needs and mental health conditions, including personality disorder.
Salary: Up to £165k dependant on experience + £8,400 car allowance
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Women’s mental health
Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire
Responsibilities:
- Act as Responsible Clinician for 18 inpatients
- Lead MDT discussions and support evidence-based treatment
- Manage complex care pathways across levels of security
- Support trauma-informed, PBS and recovery-focused models
- Liaise with external agencies and attend MHRTs and CPAs
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior doctors
- Contribute to service improvement and clinical governance
Qualifications:
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College
- Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
- Experience in general adult or forensic psychiatry
- Strong background in inpatient care and risk management
