Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join a specialist community substance misuse service in East Sussex. You will work under a Consultant Psychiatrist within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care to individuals affected by drug and alcohol dependence. The role involves clinical assessment, prescribing, and ongoing treatment management, supporting service users through evidence-based interventions while contributing to safe, effective, and compassionate care delivery.
Salary: £90,317 – £101,316 per annum
Position: Specialty Doctor
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Community Substance Misuse Service
Location: Hastings, East Sussex
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Conduct psychiatric and physical assessments for substance misuse service users
- Initiate and manage addiction prescribing in line with clinical guidelines
- Develop and review personalised treatment and recovery care plans
- Monitor treatment progress, investigations, and clinical outcomes
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partner agencies
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
- Participate in clinical governance, CPD, and service development
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:
- GMC Registration with Licence to Practice
- Experience in substance misuse or addiction medicine
- Knowledge of addiction psychiatry and prescribing practices
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
