Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Beds – 10 bed female PICU ward (Littlemore Ward)
Support – full time SpD cover (first on call)
On calls – 2nd on call basis, currently 1:6

Located between Nottingham and Mansfield is a 28-bedded specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care service for female patients. Offering individualised care packages for patients and specialising in managing behaviours that lead to distress, which is supported by a strong team of psychologists and occupational therapists.
The multidisciplinary team specialises in positive behavioural support planning, to help patients in managing and developing new strategies to improve their distress and trauma. The ward is proficient at nursing patients in a severe phase of their mental health illness and it integrates current best practice to promote recovery.
The multidisciplinary team has vast experience in managing high levels of patient distress, which allows the ward to admit from vast clinical settings including other mental health inpatients wards, and accident and emergency departments. The site receives support from an experienced Specialty Doctor.
The services accept admissions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The client seeks a highly motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to complement the existing medical work force. The successful candidate will be joining an expanding and clinically diverse North Region.
