Overview
Forensic Consultant
Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Beds – 12 bed LSU for adults with primary diagnosis of LD and secondary MH issues
On calls – 1 in 6 2nd on call
Support – Specialty Doctor & full MDT
Salary – Up to £165k

A 12 bedded and a 1 bedded bespoke pod, low secure unit for adults with a primary diagnosis of Learning disability and secondary mental health issues. They have a strong focus on recovery and enabling patients to reintegrate back into the community.
The role will involve working closely with other clinicians in the region based at Lincoln, Mansfield & Nottingham.

Responsibilities
- You would lead a multidisciplinary team of professionals from nursing, clinical psychology, occupational therapy who will form part of the MDT.
- You are expected to review treatment plans, coordinate discharge and liaise with Commissioners regarding admission, progress update and discharge planning.
- You must possess highly sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills as these are critical to gain the trust and build the confidence of patients, in order for treatments and interventions to be effective and successful.
- You must have the ability to work autonomously to agreed short and medium term objectives and able to understand the impact your actions will have on the care of the patient and the workings of the multi-disciplinary team.
- You must be a good problem solver and be able to use your systemic knowledge, experience and creative thinking and translate best practice and evidence based research into practical operational solutions.
- The doctor agrees to hold and continue registration with the GMC. The doctor will be expected to provide evidence of their registration, if requested, by the Hospital Director or Chief Medical Officer.
- The post holder is expected to participate on the on-call rota which is on a second on call basis.
Qualifications and Requirements
- You must possess GMC registration (or equivalent) and be able to provide evidence of registration if requested.
- You should be a good team player and be keen to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation and management plans.
- You must have highly sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills to gain trust and build confidence with patients.
- You should be able to work autonomously to achieve short and medium term objectives and understand the impact on patient care and MDT operations.
