Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a secure male inpatient mental health service on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on driving service improvement, supporting recovery-focused rehabilitation, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post offers significant scope for professional development and leadership.
Salary: Around £160,000 FTE
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Rehab
Hours: Part Time
Location: Wrexham
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Assess, treat, and safely discharge patients
- Lead CPA and ICR processes to ensure compliance
- Manage psychiatric medication prescribing and reviews
- Collaborate with NHS clinicians and external stakeholders
- Ensure delivery of NICE guidelines and quality standards
- Support complaints handling and co-production initiatives
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:
- Full GMC registration and licence to practice
- MRCPsych or international equivalent
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status
- Strong experience in general adult psychiatry
- Confidence managing complex mental health presentations
