Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist adult Eating Disorders inpatient service within a well-established hospital setting. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care to patients in a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment. This is an 18-bed mixed-gender ward, with strong clinical leadership support, including mentorship and credentialing opportunities for those developing experience in Eating Disorders.
Salary: Up to £180,000
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Adult Eating Disorders
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours) – 1 day WFH
Setting: 18-bed specialist Eating Disorders inpatient ward (mixed gender)
Location: Stockport
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary inpatient team
- Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act
- Conduct ward rounds, risk assessments, and care reviews
- Develop and oversee individualised treatment plans
- Support admissions and pre-admission assessments
- Contribute to clinical governance and service development
- Provide psychiatric expertise across the MDT
Qualifications:
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- Ideally CCT – may consider equivalent consultant experience
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status preferred
- Experience in inpatient or complex mental health settings
- Interest in Eating Disorders (training support available)
