We have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist to join a new, purpose-built 8 bedded High Intensity PICU. This is a unique chance to play a key role in shaping a developing inpatient service for children and young people with complex mental health needs, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Salary: Up to £145,478 (£180k when factoring in NHS pension, AL & on-call enhancements)

Position: Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist

Hours: Full time (10 PAs) – part time considered

Setting: Inpatient CAMHS PICU

Location: Bournemouth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead assessment and treatment planning for complex CAMHS inpatients
  • Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team
  • Conduct ward rounds, CPA meetings, and discharge planning
  • Liaise with families, community teams, and external agencies
  • Participate in tribunal reports and Mental Health Act work
  • Support service development within a new inpatient setting
  • Contribute to the consultant on-call rota

Qualifications:

  • GMC registration with Licence to Practise
  • Specialist Registration or within 6 months of CCT/CESR
  • Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status
  • Experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Strong MDT working and leadership skills
