We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Urgent Care Practitioner (UCP) / Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work within NHS Urgent Treatment Centres. This locum agency role offers ADHOC weekday, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts, providing excellent flexibility. The role is available ASAP and is inside IR35.
The post holder will work autonomously, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients presenting with minor injuries and minor illness, in line with Trust policies, NICE guidance, and professional codes of conduct.
Essential Criteria – MUST HAVE- Current NMC registration (RN12)
- Proven experience working autonomously in UTC / Walk-in Centre / ED streaming
- Minor Injury experience
- Suturing competency
- Plaster of Paris application
- Ability to independently interpret X-rays
- Experience assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing minor illness and injury
- NHS experience within a similar role
- Autonomous clinical practice and accountability
- Top-to-toe health assessment
- Minor Illness and Minor Injury modules
- Referral to X-ray and X-ray interpretation
- Suturing and plastering
- IRMER / Red Dot training
- ECG interpretation
- Wound care (general)
- IM and SC medication administration
- Suture and staple removal
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (or ability to work under PGDs)
- Phlebotomy / Venepuncture
