Athona is recruiting an experienced Band 6 Community Nurse to join a specialist Dementia Service in Shropshire on a 12-week locum contract, starting ASAP.
Location: 71 Salop Road, Oswestry, Market Drayton Cottage Hospital, Severnfields, Shrewsbury
Contract Details:
- Band: 6
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Shift Pattern: 09:00 – 17:00
- Rate: £27.00 per hour (Full Gross) / £20.87 per hour (PAYE)
- Payment: PAYE arrangements only
The Role: You will support the referrals management process and provide intensive community-based care for service users living with dementia and their carers. The role involves managing a complex caseload, delivering evidence-based interventions, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
Key Requirements:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) with relevant community experience.
- Previous experience working with older adults living with dementia.
- Experience managing complex community caseloads.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced community setting.
- Supervisory or leadership experience is desirable.
- Excellent communication and clinical assessment skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
