We are looking for someone to join our F&C team on a 12-mth fixed-term contract to deliver high-quality account reconciliations, investigate variances and support accurate financial reporting.

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and validity of the company’s financial records. You will maintain the integrity of the general ledger by performing regular substantiation of all balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies, providing month end support and ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards.

You can do this with full focus on:

  • Monthly Substantiation: Perform and review monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, including Cash/Bank, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Fixed Assets, Accruals, and Prepayments.
  • Investigation & Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciling items and variances by collaborating with stakeholders across the business.
  • Audit Support: Prepare robust documentation and audit trails for internal and external auditors, ensuring all balances are adequately explained and supported.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and lead initiatives to streamline reconciliation including ongoing ERP improvement testing.
  • Month End Controlling Support: Support Controlling Team with Month End postings, income analysis and trend checks, assist with variance analysis and Credit Risk / Aged Debt reporting.
  • Lease Termination reconciliation & Internal Controls Testing: Support with detailed lease termination income reconciliation/analysis, and assist with existing Internal Controls tests on revenue.
  • External Statistical Reporting: Completion & submission of the Office of National Statistics quarterly reporting of Income/Expenditure and Assets/Liabilities.

What can you bring with you as a Financial Reconciliation Analyst? Above all, your proactive attitude, willingness to take ownership and resolve challenges to an acceptable conclusion within pre-determined timeframes. You will also have excellent attention to detail, highly analytical and ability to solving financial challenges. In addition:

  • Qualified Accountant, with a minimum of 3 years financial management experience, ideally gained within the finance industry.
  • Proven track record in managing high-volume data and identifying/clearing aged reconciling items.
  • Audit and statutory accounting experience with strong knowledge on accounting Standards.
  • Proactive attitude, willing to take ownership of problems and resolve them to a satisfactory conclusion within pre-determined timeframes.
  • The ability to ask the “right” (problem/solution focused) question.
