Rate of pay - £16.85 per hour with enhanced rates of £19.85 per hour available. Salary up to £40,268.80 per annum for full time hours of 4 x 12 hour shifts per week. Permanent full or part time Staff Nurse post available. Day or Night duty is also currently available at this fully compliant and highly graded nursing home.

Athenia Recruitment are recruiting for a qualified staff nurse (RGN or RMN) with an active NMC PIN for our clients highly regarded, medium sized nursing home in Dundee. Some experience of working in elderly and dementia care in a similar environment is preferred. This attractive, purpose built home is situated in a quiet residential area of Dundee and provides high quality nursing and residential care for the residents. You would be joining a stable and supportive nursing and care team, and an excellent pay rate of £16.85 - £19.85 per hour is offered, up to £40,268.80 per annum for full time contracted hours.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all clinical nursing practices in accordance with the Company Care Procedures.
- Participate in the teaching and training of other staff members of the nursing team as directed, assessing trainees where required.
- Maintain all nursing records and keep the Service Users Care Plans up to date.
- Communicate with the Service User's relatives and visitors, documenting and acting on any relevant details, reporting to the Home Manager where applicable.
- Carry out agreed Procedures for improvement of the nursing services and the reduction of cross infection.
- Adhere to agreed procedures for the ordering, administration and safe custody of drugs in accordance with the Nursing/Home Policy.
- Assist medical staff to carry out medical Service User care where appropriate.
- Safeguard the health, safety and welfare of Service Users, visitors and staff.
- Obtain laboratory specimens as required.
- Participate in the admission and discharge of Service Users' in accordance with the Care Home Policy.
- Ensure that adequate support is provided to other members of the Care Home Staff.
- Assist with the introduction of new procedures for the improvement of care.
- Undertake the appraisal of other staff where requested by the Home Manager.
- Deputise for the Home Manager as required.
- Cover on‐call when required.
- All other duties required for the efficient running of the Care Home.
- Report and accurately record all accidents and untoward incidents appertaining to Service Users', visitors and staff.
- Assist and maintain professional discipline in the Care Home.
- Co–operate with all other staff to promote and maintain a high standard of care complying with all Quality Systems introduced by the Company.
- Report all matters that affect the management of the Home.
- Participate in the introduction of new staff to their duties.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Have full knowledge of the Fire Procedures, fire escapes and working knowledge of the fire–fighting equipment in your area of work.
- Keep abreast of the current Care Home Policies and Procedures.
- Discuss and promote innovations.
- Keep abreast with current Policies and Procedures involving care.
- Keep up to date with all national nursing information by reading professional journals and literature.
