Overview of the Chartered Highways Engineer (Civil Engineering) position at a leading engineering consultancy in Glasgow. Salary up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Unit team to ensure successful delivery of services
  • Review MTCE, System Auditor and Site Technician deliverables
  • Ensure quality of reporting and communication, internally and externally
  • Work with team to produce the monthly programmes and ensure content and focus is correct (identifying schemes/cyclic activities to be monitored/audited and reported on)
  • Discuss with team individual Unit performance, establish patterns, identify areas of concern and potential mitigations, address any ad-hoc issues
  • Prepare Monthly Reports ensuring quality
  • Contribute to Annual Report, Winter and Incident Response Reports
  • Attend OC programming meeting, include commentary in MPR on quality of OC planning and programming
  • Attend Progress Meeting
  • Attend Pre Progress meeting
  • Catch up with OC
  • Attend Design Meetings with OC
  • OC procedure/plan reviews
  • Review OC performance in relation to the Employers Risk Register with respect to how they mitigate the Employer's risks

Requirements:

  • Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent
  • Extensive experience of auditing, monitoring, investigation and analysis of technical, contractual, and commercial issues relevant to the construction, management and maintenance of a roads network
  • Demonstrable knowledge of auditing, monitoring, investigation and analysis of technical and commercial issues relevant to the construction, management and maintenance of a roads network

Key Tasks:

  • Investigate, analyse and report on technical compliance with Suppliers contracts.
  • Analyse programmes of works submitted by Suppliers and report on the value for money being provided by the Suppliers to the Employer.
  • Investigate, analyse and report on technical solutions proposed by Suppliers taking account of technical options, good practice and value for money.
  • Liaise with other members of the services delivery team to ensure coordinated investigation, analysis and reporting to the Employer.
  • To be fully conversant with and understand the relevant Supplier contracts.
