Apollo is seeking an individual to join the Client Portfolio Management & Innovation (CPMI) team to drive market and competitor intelligence efforts. As a part of the Client & Product Solutions division, CPMI supports strategic and sustainable capital formation through high-impact client engagement, innovative product solutions, and intelligence on private markets trends and competitors. The role requires someone who can resourcefully gather intelligence from the opaque private markets landscape while driving efficiency and scalability. The successful candidate will build repeatable frameworks, leverage technology, and streamline intelligence delivery — ensuring that leadership and client teams have consistent, actionable visibility into competitor positioning and market dynamics.
Primary Responsibilities:- Source, triangulate and synthesize intelligence (e.g., market trends, competitor detail, fundraising, and product developments) from structured and unstructured inputs (e.g., competitor disclosures, fundraising data, press coverage, investor commentary, industry events, and other networks)
- Develop and maintain databases, dashboards, and reports that institutionalize intelligence and reporting for efficient, repeatable, and timely delivery
- Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, tracking, and visualization to reduce manual effort and enhance scalability
- Track and synthesize capital market trends, industry developments, and competitor positioning
- Translate complex, fragmented market inputs into clear, actionable reports and presentations for capital formation, product, and leadership teams
- Work closely with investment, finance, and strategy teams to develop insights that support strategic and capital formation efforts
- Manage and meet project deadlines effectively: juggling multiple assignments with efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness
- 6-10+ years of prior experience in market intelligence, competitor analysis, strategy, or research for financial services (e.g., consulting, asset management, wealth management or equity research)
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, investment strategies, and trends
- Track record of building structured approaches to unstructured problems, with an emphasis on repeatability and scalability
- Strong technical orientation: able to leverage data tools and design frameworks that streamline intelligence gathering and distribution
- Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Experience with private market databases (Preqin, PitchBook, Morningstar Direct, Capital IQ) and ability to supplement with qualitative/unstructured sources
- Familiarity with SQL/Python/Data pipeline design for data structuring, querying, and workflow automation
- Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx)
