Provide senior-level oversight to ensure model integrity, accuracy, transparency, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to evaluate and critique assumptions, methodologies and modeling approaches across ALM, valuation, pricing, capital and stress testing.
  • Develop and deliver meeting materials for the SBA Committee, Board of Directors, senior executives, executive committees, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Carry out risk assessments for new reinsurance transactions and material business initiatives against risk appetite, capital requirements, and regulatory standards and provide risk recommendations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on Bermuda regulatory frameworks, internal risk policies, model governance, and capital implications, including matters requiring Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) engagement or Board-level oversight.
  • Operate as a key independent voice within the risk function, influencing strategic and tactical decision-making across actuarial, capital, product, investment, liquidity, derivatives, legal, compliance, and business disciplines.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional contributors and, lead, develop and guide team members as required—fostering accountability, clear ownership, strong judgment, and a proactive Bermuda risk culture.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Fellow of a widely recognized actuarial body with FSA or FIA preferred.
  • 7+ years’ experience working in the life insurance industry, preferably in annuities.
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite and at least one programming language.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage several projects.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and drive initiatives to completion with little direction.
  • Comfortable operating in a flat, fast-paced organization and engaging credibly with senior management, executive committees, and regulators.
