Langdon House is an exceptional residential care home in Cambridge. At Langdon House, we pride ourselves on our family-feel, attractive gardens, and providing outstanding care to each of our residents. We’re based in a quiet nook in Chesterton on the north-eastern side of Cambridge, three miles from the city centre. Our home offers fantastic 24-hour care to up to 51 residents.
About the role:
Reporting to the Home Admin Manager, the Administration Assistant will ensure the reception area provides a friendly, welcoming, and professional image at all times. You will also support the Home Admin Manager with a variety of administrative tasks, such as answering enquiries, responding to emails, and postal duties.
Salary: £11.44 per hour.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday. Every other weekend is included in the rota as standard.
Home Location: 20 Union Lane, Chesterton, Cambridge, CB4 1QB – 3 miles from the city centre.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinating all front desk activities including answering all incoming calls, providing information for callers, redirecting calls, or taking accurate messages ensuring they are passed to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
- Assisting the Home Admin Manager with payroll tasks such as setting up new starters, recording absence and annual leave, and processing leavers.
- Supporting the Home Admin Manager with day-to-day admin tasks ensuring that they are completed with accuracy and efficiency.
- Assisting with enquiry handling, preparing and sending out brochures, and responding to and sending emails.
Training, Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous administrative experience is desirable, as is knowledge of finance and/or HR procedures; however, training will be provided for the successful candidate.
- You will have excellent customer service, communication, and IT skills, ideally Microsoft Office, together with an eye for detail.
- You are confident in handling personal and sensitive data and ensuring it is maintained in a confidential manner at all times.
- You are organised, numerate, and accurate, with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
