About the Bars Manager Role
Working for a leading South London Members Club, the Bars Manager will manage a wide range of events hosted in this Grade II listed building. The Bars Manager is responsible for multiple events, running both bars and events, managing customer expectations and managing the bars and event staff.
The successful Bars Manager will be responsible for:
- Recruiting, training, and managing bar staff, including creating schedules and providing ongoing performance feedback.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, and event organisers.
- Ensuring consistent, high-quality beverages are served to customers.
- Overseeing the event on the day, managing staff, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of events.
- Working with Marketing, Sales, and Accounts team members.
- Key holder for the building and lock/unlock the building as required.
- Responsible for managing the tills and EPOS system and their effective use and making changes as required.
The successful Bars and Event Manager will have:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Organised, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced venue environment.
- A positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
- Multiple bar management experience.
- Previous events management experience.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours during events.
The successful candidate will be proactive, confident with excellent communication skills and have a natural ability to build a rapport with club members as well as with team members.
