We are hiring a Restorative Nursing Assistant to join our dynamic care team at Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!

In this role, you promote resident wellness and prevent decline and loss of independence whenever possible, promote independence by assisting residents to achieve or maintain their highest level of functioning in the areas of dressing, bathing, toileting, locomotion, transfer, eating and communication, achieve positive outcomes efficiently and document results clearly, accurately and concisely, and provide an interdisciplinary approach to assessments and interventions to maximize each individual’s physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
Education & Experience:
- Must possess an active and unencumbered CNA license in Massachusetts.
- CPR certification preferred, but not necessary.
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- General work experience in rehabilitation and/or long-term care preferred but not necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Knows facility Privacy Practices and keeps confidential any resident information he/she has knowledge of.
- Promote and maintain good body alignment and proper positioning.
- Encourage and assist bedfast/chairfast residents to change positions at least every 2 hours to prevent pressure sores and stimulate circulation (assist resident with any required personal care needs during position changes).
- Encourage and assist the resident to be active and OOB during the day.
- Encourage, assist, and teach the resident to perform his/her own self-care.
- Promote resident’s independence in ADLs by providing opportunity for self-care, transfer, ambulation, and dining activities.
- Assist resident to adjust to his/her disabilities.
- Assist residents to use prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Provide routine range of motion exercises to maintain function and prevent contractures and deformities.
- Assist residents to carry out prescribed therapy exercises between visits to the therapist.
- Help residents redirect and encourage their interests.
- Record and document services provided accurately and per state and federal guidelines.
Specific Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Demonstrates ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately per state and federal regulations to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
- Good organizational skills.
- Must have knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately.
