Ashlynn Grange is an exceptional 153-bed care home in Peterborough. The home prides itself on the surrounding gardens that grow flowers and a variety of different vegetables. The level of care at Ashlynn Grange is exceptional, and all staff love to keep residents entertained with a full programme of activities and live performances on our outdoor stage. Our newly refurbished café is available to our residents and their visitors, serving a variety of fresh tea, coffee and cakes daily.
About the role
As a Head Chef, you will have overall responsibility for the set up and maintenance of the catering services within the two homes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head Chef seeking their next step – you will have full line management duties of both the kitchen teams including rotas, appraisals and absence management.
Salary: £17.77 per annum.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, across Monday to Sunday with no late nights or split shifts, and every other weekend off as standard.
Home Location: Bretton Gate, Peterborough, PE3 9UZ.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality.
- Line management of the kitchen team, handling recruitment and duties such as appraisals, rotas and absence management.
- Promote choice and dignity to the residents of the home with the services we provide, and ensure the nutritional content of the meals provided cater for the dietary needs of all residents.
- Ensure that requirements of the Food Safety Manual, Health and Safety Manual and Meal policies requirements are met.
Training, Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience as a Head Chef is essential.
- Experience in a care environment is advantageous.
- Proven track record for leading, empowering, supporting & motivating a team.
- Ability to travel between the two locations listed above.
