About Ashlynn Grange Care Home

Ashlynn Grange is an exceptional 153-bed care home in Peterborough. The home prides itself on the surrounding gardens that grow flowers and a variety of different vegetables. The level of care at Ashlynn Grange is exceptional, and all staff love to keep residents entertained with a full programme of activities and live performances on our outdoor stage. Our newly refurbished café is available to our residents and their visitors, serving a variety of fresh tea, coffee and cakes daily.

About the role

As a Chef at Ashlynn Grange Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring the catering services and residential dining experience of the highest standard and quality for our residents. The Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head and Assistant Chefs to ensure the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality for our residents.

Salary: £13.00 per hour.

Shift Pattern: 30 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.

Home Location: Bretton Gate, Peterborough, PE3 9UZ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assist the Head, Sous and Assistant Chefs to ensure all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • To guide and lead the Kitchen Assistants when required to ensure their delivery of service is of the highest standard.
  • To assist the kitchen team to ensure any requirements from internal and external audits are actioned within the timescales required.
  • Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and hygiene standards is achieved and maintained.

Training, Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience within a similar position working within a kitchen environment is required.
  • Exposure to a care environment is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
