About Langdon House Care Home
Langdon House is an exceptional residential care home in Cambridge. We pride ourselves on our family‑feel, attractive gardens and providing outstanding care to each of our residents. We’re based in a quiet nook in Chesterton on the north eastern side of Cambridge, three miles from the city centre. Our home offers fantastic 24‑hour care to up to 51 residents.
About the role
Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the highest service standards of cleaning are delivered in the home to provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
Salary: £12.21 per hour.
Shift Pattern: 0‑hours per week contract, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.
Home Location: 20 Union Lane, Chesterton, Cambridge, CB4 1QB – 3 miles from the city centre.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that cleaning duties are carried out in accordance to the cleaning schedule, ensuring the highest standard of personal presentation and hygiene are maintained.
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are being met and that infection control policies and universal precautions are followed at all times.
- To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
Training, Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in a similar position is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- A passion for care – we’re looking for a genuinely caring individual who will put the needs of our residents first.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as high attention to detail.
