As a Second Chef at Goodwins Hall Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of food service and meal preparation within the home.
About Goodwins Hall Care Home: Nestled in a quiet area at the bottom of Goodwins Road, our 76-bedroom care home is known for its beautiful fountain centrepiece at the entrance. Our sought-after care home provides a variety of high-quality care, whilst boasting a full activities schedule and amazing facilities. About The Role: Reporting to the Head Chef, the Second Chef will support the team by ensuring the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality.
Salary: £13.37 per hour.
Shift Pattern: 35 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.
Home Location: Goodwins Road, King's Lynn, England, PE30 5PD.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide a high-quality dining experience by preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals that promote choice, dignity, and enjoyment for all residents.
- Cook and assist in the preparation of a wide range of meals, ensuring food is fresh, well-presented, and meets the individual dietary and cultural needs of residents.
- Liaise with residents to understand their preferences and ensure they are happy with the food and beverages provided within the home.
- Ensure the nutritional content of all meals supports the health, wellbeing, and specific dietary requirements of each resident.
- Support the Head Chef in maintaining all regulatory, food safety, and statutory requirements, and in following company policies and procedures at all times.
Training, Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum of two years catering experience working within a kitchen environment is essential.
- NVQ level 3 in Food Hygiene is essential.
- Exposure to working within a care environment is highly advantageous.
