You will report to the Global IT Director with a dotted line to the Head of Data and work closely with the rest of the Architecture Team. You will also engage directly with various business stakeholders and with IT, Legal, Infosec and the wider data community across ATG Entertainment. Your core focus will be supporting the Solutions Architects (SA) and product owners across data architecture: recommending how data flows, models and contracts are captured and documented, advising on governance, and shaping solution designs and reviewing third-party proposals.
Key responsibilities
- Identifying and recording data flows and inputting into and providing design sign-off on data integrations.
- Recommending and reviewing Azure stack technical designs, inputting into reviews of third-party SOWs and designs, and critiquing these to protect ATG's interests in maintaining best-practice data architecture.
- Identifying and resolving governance issues around AI and data retention generally, proposing architectures to enable governed AI roll-out and supporting the production of business cases where resource or skills gaps are identified.
- Creation of long-term plans to resolve existing issues caused by the prioritisation of tactical solutions.
- Owning legal questions around data residency etc. and recommending safe architectures for data exchange including MCP servers and similar.
- Supporting the SA's and engineer(s) to model data within the various domains.
Inclusion: Committing to creating and upholding a positive, inclusive culture that nurtures potential and supports well-being.
Sustainability: Playing your part in reducing our environmental impact and finding more sustainable ways of working.
Next Generations: Encouraging the next generation in live entertainment by contributing to our outreach and training programmes, including mentoring students and trainees, and supporting our Creative Learning and Community Partnerships work.
Our culture
You will help us uphold a positive culture around meeting our obligations, by having a positive attitude to health and safety, legal and insurance requirements and take care to understand our policies and procedures.
Self-directed and proactive - you identify problems, drive work forward and communicate progress without being prompted.
Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor, leading through expertise and influence rather than hierarchy, while collaborating with the rest of the team to ensure key decisions are shared. Able to influence teams and stakeholders across organisational boundaries.
Able to set and uphold standards under delivery pressure without becoming a bottleneck.
Able to explain architecture decisions to commercial leaders in terms of what they enable, constrain and cost.
Essential
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or senior data professional, with a demonstrable track record of designing and delivering enterprise data platforms in a commercial setting.
- Modern cloud data platforms and ELT patterns, with sufficient depth in warehouse, lake and lakehouse architectures to review and challenge platform designs and critically evaluate supplier proposals, with a particular focus on the Microsoft Azure stack.
- Data contract design and governance across both data-producing and data-consuming teams, including experience of canonical model delivery and best-practice master data management.
- Integration design across API, event, streaming, and batch patterns.
- Experience designing data architecture for AI and agentic automation use cases, including capturing business rules, exception logic and expert judgment as reusable, machine-accessible data assets to support AI/LLM tooling.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills - able to build relationships with business stakeholders and external integration partners, translate business requirements into data architecture decisions, and adapt communication style for technical and non-technical audiences.
- A self-starter, comfortable operating amid uncertainty and capable of disciplined prioritisation and focused delivery.
- Ability to lead technical design discussions, produce architecture documentation, and present solution options to senior stakeholders and investment committees.
- Architecture practice across a complex technology estate, including current and target state views, architecture decision records, and reusable design patterns.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, dbt and/or Snowflake (including Cortex).
- Practical proficiency in SQL, Python, and transformation tooling sufficient to prototype and understand what engineering teams build and to assess it against data governance expectations.
- Experience working with Finance ERP data (particularly Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or a comparable ERP platform) with an understanding of Finance data structures and inbound/outbound data exchange requirements.
- Experience of IBM TM1 (FP&A) or similar systems.
- Practical experience of AI tooling, agent access patterns, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) over structured data.
- Understanding of Finance business capabilities: Management Accounting, Revenue Accounting, FP&A, O2C, R2R, R2P, Tax, Treasury and Expenses - and how they are served by data platforms.
- Experience in the live entertainment or sports ticketing industry, or a passion for the arts and creative industries.
ATG Entertainment's values set the tone for how we work, how we treat one another, and the culture we continue to build across the UK and the wider organisation.
