The Marketing & Communications Executive supports the work of the venue’s Marketing & Communications team through creating engaging social media content and assets, managing local end-to-end marketing campaigns, supporting with PR activities and the venue’s corporate offerings. This role reports to the Head of Marketing & Communications, and deputises for them where necessary.
The role will also work closely with the Sales & Development team to support on the growth of the venue’s conference and events offering. The Executive will support the marketing output across partnerships, sponsorships, premium seating, corporate hospitality and events. The Marketing & Communications Executive will collaborate with ATG Entertainment’s central Music, Comedy and Live Events (MCE) Marketing team to support on their management of the venue’s programme of events.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcross Digital
- Ensure the effective scheduling and management of Swansea Building Society Arena’s social media content across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn), and to lead on innovative video content creation.
- Develop creative, trend-led content using graphic design, photo and video editing tools (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva) to enhance the venue’s social presence.
- Support the Head of Marketing & Communications with the development and maintaining of the venue’s influencer relationships.
- Plan, implement, manage and evaluate paid social media campaigns, including but not limited to Meta and LinkedIn.
- Monitor and respond to customer queries and reviews across social platforms and review sites to protect and enhance the venue’s reputation.
- Support on the venue’s Partnership Programme through creating engaging content for social media and manage relationships with partners. Includes regular visits to partners for content shoots.
Across Venue
- Lead on planning, activating and monitoring campaign activity on a local venue level in order to maximise audience capacity and achieve marketing targets.
- Work closely with the central Music, Comedy, Live Events Marketing team to support on their management of the venue’s premium Music, Comedy, Live Events marketing campaigns, providing local insights to inform the team’s strategy and initiatives.
- Support the Sales & Development Team to grow the venue’s Conference & Events across partnerships, sponsorships, premium seating, corporate hospitality and events through design of marketing collateral (including brochures, promotional assets, flyers, and video content).
- Work closely with the Venue Director, Regional Head of Conference & Sales and Head of Marketing & Communications to support the venue’s commercial strategy through highlighting and creating opportunities.
- Represent the venue at trade shows and networking events alongside the Sales & Development Team.
- Deputise for the Head of Marketing & Communications where necessary.
- Expectation to work shows and events outside of office hours (evenings and occasional weekends) to create engaging on-the-night and retrospective social media content.
Additional Responsibilities
- Supporting the venue’s CRM strategy across venue, show and Conference & Events campaigns, and collaborate with ATG’s Data and CRM teams to identify and test opportunities to grow audiences and sales.
- Maintain and update Arena’s website and company intranet.
- Writing and distribution of press releases, supporting on gala and press nights, maintaining photographer and videographer relationships and any PR stunt opportunities or photocalls.
- Responsible for the design, scheduling and maintaining of digital signage across the venue for shows and corporate events, alongside updating print sites across the venue and archiving of print collateral.
- To support and where appropriate, attend ATG Inspire sessions and activities, creating engaging promotional content. ATG Inspire is the venue’s creative community-focused arm.
Essential
- Proven experience creating high-quality, engaging digital content (including video, imagery, copy).
- Strong awareness and understanding of current social media trends.
- Driven and ambitious – results-oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An experienced marketing and communications professional with experience managing campaigns ideally in the music, entertainment and/or events industry.
- High attention to detail that ensures their work is always of the highest standard.
- A passion for the live music, entertainment and events industry.
Desirable
- Existing ability to speak Welsh, or a desire to learn.
- Experience using a range of softwares including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Edits, InShot.
- Experience planning and delivering end-to-end marketing campaigns.
- Experience in using scheduling software packages (such as Sprout), campaign management platforms (such as Monday), and business intelligence tools (such as Power BI).
- Willingness to work out of office hours and travel, as required.
