Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time experienced Resident Director (Maternity Cover) to work on the London production of PADDINGTON THE MUSICAL at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Leading on any ad hoc rehearsals.
- Show watching an understudy’s first performance on stage.
- Casting and rehearsing new children for the production as required.
- Watching and noting the show at least four times per week.
- Attending conferences, discussions, auditions, rehearsals and dress rehearsals as required by the Production on reasonable notice.
- Attending and facilitating post-show question and answer sessions in the absence of the Director.
- Any other tasks that the Producer or the Director may reasonably request.
You will provide strong support to the Associate Director, liaising between many different departments, so it is important you have good communication skills.

Job Location: West End London.
Contract Type: Fixed term maternity cover for up to nine months in the first instance, or until the employee returns from maternity leave (subject to eight weeks’ notice), or for the run of the Production, whichever shall be the shorter, subject to two weeks’ notice by the Producers.
Salary: Weekly rate paid via payroll.
Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Wednesday to Monday).
