Marketing and Communications Manager
You’ll report to the Head of Marketing & Communication and work closely with the Marketing & Communications Assistant and the Ticketing & Sales Department.
Based at Richmond Theatre, a 126‑year‑old venue hosting plays, musical, dance, opera, talks and the annual pantomime, the role plans and delivers marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales, nurture the audience base and raise the media profile of the venue and its shows.
Key responsibilities
- Marketing Campaigns
- Collaborate with the venue marketing team to deliver impactful campaigns that drive sales for shows and ATG Entertainment.
- Lead the strategy and delivery of all show and venue‑centric marketing campaigns, using audience insights provided by Central Marketing.
- Manage press launches, support strategies, press releases, features, competitions, photo calls and photographs for productions to achieve campaign objectives.
- Create campaign & communication ideas, partnerships, content, events and PR stunts that generate wide notice and conversation.
- Act as the go‑to person for Producers & Agency partners on day‑to‑day needs for show campaigns, cultivating strong client relationships.
- Maintain day‑to‑day relationships with media and third‑party contacts, ensuring long‑term relationships and a clear return on investment.
- Prepare, adapt and implement assets for shows or venue initiatives, managing agencies and sharing assets with other ATG Entertainment tour venues.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of all marketing, protecting the show and theatre brand.
- Secure sales and audience targets, manage campaign budgets and reporting.
- Set up priority and public booking periods accurately and in a timely manner.
- Drive marketing campaigns for ATG Entertainment membership schemes, sponsorship commitments and other initiatives.
- Continuously refine and optimise campaigns to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Adhere to ATG Entertainment marketing principles and pricing for all services.
- Work with the central Membership Manager and Head of Marketing & Communications to identify membership initiatives that grow the audience.
- Promote ATG Inspire initiatives and market the venue’s range of initiatives, growing audiences.
- Provide ad‑hoc marketing support for the Richmond Theatre Trust’s projects.
- Collaborate with the Head of Marketing & Communications to implement activity supporting sponsorship agreements and Venue F&B budgets.
- Community & Network Development
- Develop initiatives that promote the venue and its shows, including ‘must‑attend’ events and high‑profile guests to drive media coverage.
- Create and maintain engaging written and visual assets across programmes, guides, newsletters, the website and social channels, overseeing proofing.
- Execute strategic social media communication, generating content and managing channels to grow reach and engagement.
- Build and manage relationships with traditional media, online channels and local influencers, extending the venue’s footprint in under‑represented communities.
- Act on the Theatre Directors strategy to raise the theatre’s glamour profile through events, content and partnerships.
- Audience & Sales Development
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to evaluate sales performance and explore initiatives to improve occupancy and ATP.
- Partner with ATG Entertainment’s Data & CRM team to identify under‑represented audience groups and implement strategies to address them.
- Work with marketing & data teams to test initiatives that grow audience and sales.
- Brief outbound group sales campaigns to the Contact Centre and collaborate for successful growth.
- Define the on‑sale calendar to maximise the impact and sales of show announcements, adhering to ATG Entertainment Central processes.
- Support tourism sales opportunities where relevant.
- Reporting & Evaluation
- Adhere to ATG Entertainment briefing, reporting and process guidelines to ensure consistent operation and learning.
- Deliver robust campaign evaluations, demonstrating effectiveness and capturing learnings for future campaigns.
- Compile sales analysis and reports, disseminating information organization‑wide or to producers as required.
- Manage budget tracking to achieve efficiencies and value for money.
- Perform other duties as reasonably requested.

Essential

- Highly numerate and analytical in sales, audience data and budget management.
- Experienced in project‑managing creative campaigns: ideation, process, and evaluation.
