Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, experienced Sound No.2 to work on the West End production of The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov, adapted by Conor McPherson and directed by Ian Rickson for the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Sound No.2 on a first-class West End production. Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to support and deputise for the Head of Sound. Candidates should be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure as well as having strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly and the sound design is maintained. Previous experience in a similar role on a large-scale/West End production is essential.

  • Start Date: Monday, 28th September 2026
  • Job Location: West End, London
  • Contract Type: Fixed term until Saturday, 9th January 2027, subject to two weeks’ notice by the Producer as per the SOLT/BECTU Agreement.
  • Salary: Weekly rate as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement.
  • Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks; Alternating 7/8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
