Deputy Head of WHAM - The Lives Of Others - London Deputy Head of Wigs, Hair and Makeup Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Head of Wigs, Hair and Makeup to work on the West End production of Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s THE LIVES OF OTHERS, adapted and directed by Robert Icke. Responsibilities include assisting the Head of Wigs in the overseeing of the department, working as part of the team in the maintenance, repair and dressing of wigs and hair on the production as well as make-up requirements, to maintain the look of the production as designed. Other responsibilities include dressing performers prior to and during rehearsals and performances and other performance-related activities, working as part of an efficient and successful department and liaison with all other departments on the production and associated personnel. Candidates will require hands-on professional experience with an emphasis on wigs and hairdressing, make-up and other related disciplines, the ability to work under pressure and within a team and good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organizational and time management qualities. Desirable skills include experience in wig-knotting and/or barbering skills. We are committed to a workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion.
