New Wimbledon Theatre has been an iconic landmark in Wimbledon Town Centre since 1910, with a year-round programme of musicals, comedy, family entertainment, dance, drama and our legendary annual pantomime. In March 2024 we hosted Sir Ian McKellen and the premier performance of Player Kings. We are also home to the Studio, where development work from new writers, comedians, directors and producers brings our former ballroom to life, including the annual From the Fringe season hosting companies warming up for Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe. We are a popular choice for film makers, hosting as the backdrop for series and films including The Crown, Misbehaviour, The Nevers and a Vogue photoshoot with Kylie Minogue.
Responsibilities
- The Head of Stage will provide leadership on all day-to-day aspects of the stage infrastructure within the theatre relating to both the production and the building.
- Working closely with the Technical & Buildings Manager, you will ensure there is an efficient, cost effective and robust maintenance plan in place, meeting all operational and compliance needs from a stage maintenance perspective.
- You will lead on the production stage and carpentry requirements, working closely with visiting production & show management to ensure a smooth get in, fit up and get out.
- This role will involve regular evening and weekend work.
