We are looking for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our London studio to work on projects and business development in greater London and the Home Counties. We are a small office, in practice for over 16 years. Our projects include private house extensions, full remodelling and newbuild houses as well as Hospitality, Workplace and Leisure projects.
We welcome applications from candidates with a drive to deliver high quality design‑led projects, as well as actively seeking new opportunities and wishing to undertake business development for the office. There is opportunity for project ownership and client exposure and to develop these softer skills further. Our projects include a number of Listed Buildings. Applications from candidates with experience in historic and Listed buildings is welcomed. We are passionately committed to addressing energy challenges and approach projects to best inform and implement energy‑saving technologies. The ideal candidate will be committed to furthering our drive and learning in this critical area.
Candidate requirements:
- No less than 2 years’ experience in a UK office
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Excellent AutoCAD, Adobe suite, Sketchup, Office 365 experience
- Be experienced in dealing with London and Home County Planning Authorities and their policies
- Have a good knowledge of building regulations
- Have experience and knowledge of historic buildings and their general construction principles
- Have a good understanding of construction technologies, and/or experience/knowledge of Passivhaus/Enerphit
- Have experience in interior architecture, shopfitting, joinery
- Be fully aware of duties under CDM and as principal designer
- Be passionately creative and wish to push design opportunities on all projects
