This is a business-critical leadership role responsible for driving the growth, performance, and strategic direction of our MEP practice across the UK, with teams based in London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Edinburgh. As a client champion, team builder, and technical leader, you will play a pivotal role in expanding Atelier Ten’s multidisciplinary offering, strengthening our presence in key markets, and growing a market-leading MEP team that complements our internationally recognised sustainability and environmental design expertise.
This role is about more than managing projects. You will be responsible for winning work, developing long-term client relationships, identifying new market opportunities, attracting and developing talent, and shaping the future direction of the business. You will work closely with fellow directors and practice leaders to grow our MEP capability, enhance our multidisciplinary offering, and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients across the UK and beyond. The position combines business development, operational leadership, people management, technical oversight, and strategic planning, making it an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader who thrives on building successful teams and growing businesses.
No two days are the same. You will balance business leadership, client engagement, team development, and technical guidance while helping shape the future growth of Atelier Ten’s engineering practice across the UK. Some of the things you’ll regularly be involved in include:
- Leading and implementing the growth strategy for the MEP business across the UK market
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with developers, architects, asset owners, contractors, and industry partners
- Driving business development activities, identifying opportunities, leading pursuits, and securing new projects
- Acting as executive sponsor and director-in-charge on key client commissions
- Providing technical leadership and oversight across major multidisciplinary projects
- Growing, mentoring, and developing a high-performing MEP team
- Collaborating closely with Atelier Ten’s sustainability, environmental design, and specialist engineering practices
- Supporting recruitment, succession planning, and capability development across the business
- Leading resource planning, utilisation, and financial performance to ensure sustainable business growth
- Representing Atelier Ten through industry events, conferences, thought leadership, and professional networks
- Contributing to business strategy, operational planning, and the long-term growth of the practice
- Engaging with other SJ Group companies on joint initiatives around business growth and technical development
